Do not buy this. Not worth anything. Just bought my house and needed drain cleaned. Wouldn't cover it because found something small in the drain. They said not normal. It is a floor drain in the basement could have been from anything who knows. Just like any other shysters just want your money

America's Preferred Home Warranty refused to pay for furnace repairs

We recently purchased a home in Westerville, OH. Included in our purchase was a your home warranty from America's Preferred Home Warranty. On October 16, we contacted a heating & cooling company to investigate why our heat pump was freezing up. The repairman diagnosed the problem and made contact with the organization. Subsequently new parts were ordered and arrangements were made to complete the repair. The repairman came to install the new parts and we were informed that parts were covered by the manufacturer warranty. We were also informed, to our great surprise, that America's Preferred Home Warranty refused to cover any of the remaining repair costs.

we feel your pain. they didn't fix anything for us but they took are money.

I wish I would have checked here first before we bought the warranty.

Had a claim with them for a broken dishwasher. The amount they offered me to have it replaced was laughable! They make their money, but when it comes time to help their customers they don't do very much... Don't waste your money with these clowns...

We have a leak in our air conditioner. We were told because it caused the refrigerant to deplete it is not covered. Every time I call to ask for assistance the rep is completely unhelpful! This is the worst warranty program out there!!

We agree completely. Worst Home Warranty...E.V.E.R!!!

They make more excuses as soon as you call in with the contractor explaining the problem, than offering a solution.

Our water heater will not stay lit and after contractor speaks to representative, we are told, "Because the contractor CLEANED and fixed the problem, CLEANING is not covered." Less than 30 days later and after we relighted the pilot three times, we put in another service request. Same plumbing contractor explains, the water heater is 10 years old and needs to be replaced - the cost to repair would be less than replacement. We are told, "Because you are not repairing, we will not cover it."

One positive, we did not purchase the plan, it was provided as part of the purchase of the home. So, our next home, we will be the one to choose the home warranty, not rely on the one suggested.

We will continue to leave reviews explaining the terrible customer service and how the company looks at ways of 'getting out' of repair/replacement.

We would not recommend this home warranty to anyone! Tell your realtor you want to choose the home warranty!

Do you really think customers are going to put their personal information out here?

I don't get it. I as well have had to speak to supervisors and get nothing but excuses.

Funny because the house also came with the 1 year warranty.

Anyone have to email these people their last home inspection? Only to give them more reasons to lie.

Funny how we only had to use this warranty at the end and I found out it was almost time to renew. I thought well let's see how good of a company this is...

That's ok don't pay for anything. It's time to renew.

We will give another company our money. Kinda happy everything worked out the way it did.

They let you choose your own contractor

I have been with these guys for almost 2 years now. They always follow their terms and conditions, and they even let me use my contractor of choice. Their service was outstanding. I recommend America's Preferred Home Warranty to everyone I know. All I had to do was to call (800) 648-****, file a claim and then they walked me through the entire claims process. They opened my claim, allowed me to call the service contractor of my choice, then after my contractor diagnosed the problem I called them back and let them speak to my contractor. Based on my contractor's diagnosis they approved my claim. The work was then completed and they paid my contractor right there on the spot with a credit card. I was amazed.

I am interested in purchasing a home warranty on our new home so I am looking at reviews trying to determine if one is better than another. I must say, of all the reviews I have read, this one sounds like a paid advertisement complete with phone number and everything. LOL.

Furnace stopped working but America's Preferred Home Warranty won't cover repairs because furnace is old!!!

I bought my house a couple months ago and 2-3 months into using the furnace it stopped working. Filed a claim through America's Preferred Home Warranty, Inc but they denied my claim because it was recommended by my inspector to replace some parts in the furnace...which was functional up until now.

they said this is a defective part and they don't cover that!! just so you know what their definition of a defective part is "functions well but old, may stop working if it goes bad, is not brand" so if you have an equipment that is old when you bought the warranty you're more likely not going to be able to get it covered, cause it is defective in their own terms.

don't waste your money with them!!!!!! WARRANTY ONLY COVERS BRAND NEW PARTS.

I also have a APHW purchased by previous owner or Realtor. I have a $50 deductible (which is a joke).

I need a new heating coil in my furnace which is about $1600 to repair. APHW will only pay $562 of that because unit is old. This is my second claim for the furnace and so far will cost me $1100 for repairs because APHW would only pay a fraction. I was also told that if my Heat Pump fails, they will not cover any of that unit because of age!

This company is a joke. I would be willing to join a class action suit if one opens.

America’s Preferred Home Warranty lets homeowners choose the contractor who does the work and we ask them, while on site, what their opinion is regarding the issues. If the furnace can be effectively repaired this is usually the first option, however if the unit has outlived its normal lifespan we can pay a pro-rated percentage towards a new one.

Nobody wanted you to be without heat and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you and your family.

Skylight Leak

I just bought our home and the skylight seal came up in the inspection. We asked them to fix it and they slapped on some sealer. Last winter it started leaking with the snows. I called America's Preferred Home Warranty and the contractor explained the skylight was not well installed in the roof and the snow and ice had caused the leak. They refused to cover anything. Don't waste your money or believe their advertising. They are a business that tries very hard to deny all claims. I have had a warranty before and they were helpful people. These guys are crooks.

The Home Warranty that DOES NOT cover anything!

Incident 1:

My heat pump failed on my new house that I purchased. I called Americas Preferred Home Warranty Inc. to file a claim. They stated to have a technician call and talk with the representative when he arrives. The technician arrives and tells the representative that the compressor has failed on the unit. The representative states that the repair is not covered. The warranty on the unit would fix the heat pump but the Freon that the unit needs would not be covered.

Incident 2:

My dishwasher stopped mid-cycle one evening so I called Americas Preferred Home Warranty and once again they stated to have the technician call when he was there. The technician told the representative that the thermal fuse has failed on the unit and needed replaced. The representative said that it was not covered. They didn't give a reason just said it was not covered. In their service agreement it clearly shows that the dishwasher was covered. Even the service technician was surprised by this. It was an internal component which acts as a safety and makes the dishwasher work.

This company is a @#$^ing joke!

consumers, don't buy this warranty. it took the real estate agents to fight for us to get are a/c unit replaced.

they had to tell them that the would not sell no more warranty to there clients.

So I'm in the same boat. My dishwasher is now flooding my kitchen and basement due to *** in the case.

My contract clearly stats that the dishwasher is covered. The person on the phone told me the case is not covered under the warranty. Only the mechanical system is covered.

So now I'm out at least $500 cause of this. I guess this warranty is just a scam.

1 year ago. I purchase a warranty with them. Now I have 3 concerns. All of them they dont cover but when I was purchasing it. They say it is part of the warranty.

1) Basement leak when heavy rain.

2) Front window Glass have water between panels

3) Dishwasher- They want me to call a technician then they will tell you that once it is not covered. You need to pay from your pocket the technician who comes to your house to check it. They dont have their own to tech to check if it is part of the warranty.

BEWARE OF THIS TYPE OF COMPANY.
